Our teachers have experience working as professional performers, teaching young people performing arts and degrees from top universities and Drama schools. They also have professional experience within the industry, a full clean and enhanced DBS certificate, safeguarding and first-aid training.
Charlotte Cattrall BA (Hons), PGCE, QTS
Director & Teacher
Charlotte is an experienced Practitioner, Teacher and Director with 10 years of experience in performing arts education. After training in Musical Theatre at LIPA Academy, she gained a BA (Hons.) in Drama & Theatre Studies from Royal Holloway University of London and a PGCE in Secondary Drama & English Education from University College London IOE with Qualified Teacher Status.
Charlotte is the Head of Drama in an independent secondary school in London, and has taught Drama, Musical Theatre and LAMDA in various schools in London, Liverpool and Hong Kong. She has experience as an examiner for London College of Music and trained with Juilliard School of New York education specialists.
Charlotte still works professionally in the industry as an acting agent and actress represented by RbA Management. She is a classically trained singer having sung at national and international concerts, with choirs and as a soloist accompanied by Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. She has sung for HRH Prince of Wales, US Secretary of State and was a finalist in the National Eisteddfod. She has also performed in several musicals directed by Bill Kenwright.
Her directing credits include children's productions of Into the Woods (Hong Kong 2019), Little Shop of Horrors (Hong Kong 2018), Oliver (London 2017), A Christmas Carol (London 2020), Romeo & Juliet (Hong Kong 2018) and many showcases and concerts.
Charlotte is passionate about making performing arts education accessible for all young people and believes it is transformative in the mental health and well-being of children.
Gina Ruysen BA (Hons.), FdA
Gina is a passionate Teacher and Actress with a wealth of knowledge and 9 years experience teaching classes and leading workshops with students aged between 5-17 years old.
Gina first started acting at the age of four and has been in love with theatre ever since!
After being awarded a BA (Hons.) in English Language and Literature from the University of Leeds she went on to train at one of the worlds' leading Drama schools Bristol Old Vic and achieved a FdA in Professional Acting.
Since graduating she has worked at the Camden People’s Theatre, The Southwark Playhouse and The Charing Cross Theatre as well as The Tobacco Factory in Bristol. Most recently, she appeared in the independent film Boiling Point starring Stephen Graham.
Gina previously taught Drama and LAMDA Exams and was a weekly Drama Workshop Leader during her time at the Bristol Old Vic. She is experienced in movement and is a qualified yoga teacher having completed her teacher training in India in 2019.
Amy Sherlock BA (Hons.)
Amy is an experienced actor, teacher who graduated from The University for the Creative Arts with a BA in Acting and Performance. She is the co-founder of Own the Space Theatre Company and has experience producing theatre including verbatim show 'The Grenfell Project' which was performed at The Bread and Rose's Theatre and The Hope Theatre.
Amy has toured Europe in Theatre in Education programmes, encouraging children to speak English through drama, music and performance. She has also performed in a range of children's productions throughout the UK.
Credits include: Little Red Riding Hood (Kick in the Head Productions), The Wind in the Willows (Cat’s Grin Theatre Company) The Queen of Hearts (Colourhouse Children’s Theatre), Puss in Boots (The Phoneix Arts and Theatre Centre) and Annie in "All My Sons" (The Maltings).
Adam Rutledge BA (Hons.)
Adam is a professional actor and an experienced teacher, teaching performing arts to students of all ages and various abilities including children with special educational needs.
He was awarded a BA (Hons) degree in Musical Theatre from one of the leading Drama schools Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, and is an experienced singer and actor using his valuable knowledge and skills in his teaching.
Adam has been performing since the age of five and knows first hand the value of studying performing arts as a young person.
He is passionate about building confidence and communication skills in his students that can be applied to all areas of their lives. He is trained in LAMDA teaching and specialises in preparing students for the Acting and Musical Theatre qualifications.
Isobel Cattrall BA (Hons.)
Isobel is a caring and passionate Drama and Musical Theatre teacher with a range of professional credits and industry experience. She is a confident and experienced public speaker, having completed LAMDA examinations herself which have assisted with her degree in Politics and her current degree in Law.
She has taught LAMDA and Speech & Drama classes at YULA Theatre School and is passionate about providing students with confidence and communication skills transferable for any industry.
Isobel has performed in many professional musical theatre UK tours directed by Bill Kenwright including Evita, Dr Doolittle, Joseph, Oliver and Whistle Down the Wind as well as winning various medals in festivals and international competitions for her monologues and sketches. She was also part of the Everyman Youth Theatre and has performed in the Everyman and Playhouse Theatres.
Isobel is President of the Women in Leadership Society, is experienced in debating and mooting and can prepare pupils for speech, verse and prose examinations including LAMDA Speaking in Public Examinations.
Isobel is excited to work alongside her sister Charlotte at Performworks Productions.
